![]() ![]() It's very much a hack and slash game, and the DLC areas are the best in the series.Ĥ: Sekiro - My experience with this game is a little weird. Having shields be replaced with guns and the health regain mechanic that rewards aggression are brilliant changes, and I think BB is where fast-paced Soulsborne's peaked. I put this in my top 3, especially for how the atmosphere and themes tie into the gameplay. Fun? Double yes.ģ: Bloodborne - As far as dark, dread-inducing atmosphere, this game wins hands down. Being able to actually tank hits feels so good, especially beating the final boss in full Havel armor chugging Estus and R1 spamming through all his attacks. I think player expression is a little bit less than DS2, but poise in DS1 is how I feel poise should work. ![]() The atmosphere is at the top of the series, and messing around with different builds is incredibly fun. Also, although the PVP is dead now, the PVP was the most fun I've had in the series. Pretty much anything is viable if you know what you are doing. I like looking cool when I'm destroying my enemies, and the fashion in DS2 is top tier. So many armors, weapons, spells, and builds to cater to whatever you want. What I enjoy the most from DS2 is the player expression, which hasn't been matched in a From Software game since. I remember I was mid-playthrough in Dark Souls 1 when DS2 released and I just left DS1 because I thought the sequel looked so much cooler. Here is my ranking:ġ: Dark Souls 2 - This is the game that made me fall in love with Souls. I have played most of them in depth, and still replay a couple of them as comfort games. I was a long time Souls fan, yet for whatever reason I have kind of lost interest in Soulsborne genre games.
